A 50-year-old man was at the weekend killed in an auto crash at Ikot Obio Nyang along Etinan/ Uyohigh Way, Akwa Ibom State.
The
deceased, Uwem James, a local builder and father of eight, according to
eyewitnesses, was on his way to visit a friend in a nearby village
close to his home at Ikot Obio Nyang when the incident occurred.The accident also left the driver of the vehicle who was said to have veered off the road for unknown reasons with various degrees of injuries.
Witnesses said the blue Hyundai car in which the man was travelling, somersaulted several times before it finally stopped few meters from the scene of the accident.
We however gathered that one of the tyres of the vehicle, which took off from Eket and was heading to Uyo, the state capital, burst before killing the deceased.
