LAGOS SEALS SIX COMPANIES FOR TAX EVASION …Vows To Prosecute Defaulters

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) on Thursday sealed up six companies for non remittance of taxes due to the state government totaling over N50million.

The defaulting companies (Nicon Town Management Company with a tax liability of N36,053,652.89, Marketing Mix and Company Limited with a liability of N10,712,914.15, Hope Valley International Clinic with a liability of 2,389,885.28, BEC Consultants Nigeria Limited with a tax liability of N792,563.47, Goldmine Global Services Limited owing N505,812.73 and Brown Brommel Limited with a liability of N368,159.63) owed the Lagos State Government money for periods ranging from one to five years (2007 to 2012).

EFCC Docks Another ImposterThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 22, 2015 arraigned one Folusho Stephen before Justice C.N Oji of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Apo, Abuja on one count charge bordering on impersonation and fraud, contrary to Section 320 (a) of the Penal Code.

Stephen allegedly posed as a staff of the EFCC, and attempted to defraud one Henry O. Ojogo, a former accountant general, Cross River State, to the tune of N600,000.00 (six hundred thousand naira) to enable him give the victim a soft landing in a case he purportedly had with the Commission.

Gov. Ahmed establishes N10m Indigent Student Support Fund

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has established a N10m Abdulfatah Ahmed Indigent Student Support Fund in the faculties of Physical Sciences and Life Sciences at his alma mater, the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

Governor Ahmed who announced this at the 40^th anniversary and 31^st convocation ceremony of the University explained that the support fund will provide the sum of N100,000 each to twenty indigent students of the two faculties every year.

Right there we met a young Doctor called Dr. Ogidigben Kevwe. He asked a few questions that I answered while my husband was wallowing in pains. He (Kevwe) opened an emergency file because according to him, my husband’s file was locked up in Dr. Bamgboye’s office, and no one has access to that office. I told Dr. Kevwe that my husband had incisional hernia surgery done a few months back at the same hospital, August to be precise and it was performed by one Dr. Mohan an India man, and Dr. Balogun at St. Nicholas Hospital. He started to examine him. He then left us in his office and said he was coming back.
