Nigerian Stoaway Dies On South African Airline Flight To US

A suspected stowaway was found frozen to death in the undercarriage of a South African Airline passenger jet at Dulles Airport in Washington, after the plane landed from Senegal.

The man, identified only as Chris Dikeh, with a Nigerian Passport and in his mid-30s, is believed to have frozen in temperatures around -60°C.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan on Tuesday took his campaign of a clean Delta to schools with a charge on teachers, pupils and stakeholders of schools across the state to imbibe the clean culture.

Governor Uduaghan gave the charge while inaugurating 64 ultra modern classrooms at Olodi Primary School and Cavegina Primary School both in Warri, renovated and rehabilitated by his administration.

Dr. Uduaghan who also charged various school heads in the state to provide green environment in their respective schools, placed a ban on the use of public schools for social engagements at weekends.

One man died and four people were injured after a hydraulic crane fell over at a wedding in India.

The crane was lowering a ‘crystal platform’ carrying the bride and her sister into the wedding venue in Adalaj village, near Ahmedabad in Gujarat state.

The man, said to be a 40-year-old guest, died, while the injured are being treated at a nearby hospital following the accident last night.

Shuiabu of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, on Monday February 24, 2014 convicted and sentenced one Gift Onyegam to ten years imprisonment without an option of fine for duping a blind teacher, Rosemary Ihekanacho of a sum of N830, 000 under the pretext that he would help her son secure employment with an oil company. The convict was also ordered to pay the sum of N711, 000 (seven hundred and eleven thousand naira) in restitution to the victim.

Pastor Fireman: Teenage boy still in detention for murder

More than 40 days after 18-year-old Ikechukwu Friday was arrested and detained for murder at the State Criminal Investigations Department, Homicide Section ‘D4’, the teenager is yet to be charged to court.
