Veteran actor Olumide Bakare is dead!

Nollywood veteran actor, Olumide Bakare is dead, Tribune reports.

According to the newspaper, the actor’s personal assistant confirmed his detan in the early hours of Saturday.

Bakare, who has been sick for more than a year was discharged from the University College Hospital (UCH) last year after he was allegedly diagnosed with a respiratory disorder problem.

It was learnt, got worse in the middle of the night and was said to have called his personal assistant to take him to UCH but died before getting to the hospital.

He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, according to findings.

Actor, Saidi Balogun, said he received the news of his death with shock.

“Yes, it is true Olumide Bakare is dead. He died on his way to his hospital. When I called his number, his personal assistant picked his phone and told me he was dead. That’s how much I can say for now.”

Bakare, 65, is famous for his role as Chief Koko in the rested TV series, Koko Close. A cross-over actor, he also starred alongside Genevieve Nnaji and Hollywood’s Isaiah Washington in Tony Abulu’s 2013 film, Doctor Bello.

A manhunt for the pastor was launched after he was accused of sexually molesting his congregants. Land-Grabbers: Community Cries For Help

Attempt on Melaye: Police arrest Ijumu LG administrator

The police have arrested the administrator of Ijumu Local Governmental Area of Kogi State, Hon. Taofiq Isa, in connection with last Saturday’s assassination attempt on Senator Dino Melaye (APC- Kogi West).

Isa was arrested on Wednesday by the Police Special Squads drafted from Police Force Headquarters Abuja.

He was arrested around 1.30pm at the premisis of the state ministry of education, in Lokoja where he had gone to visit the commissioner, Hon. Sunday Tolorunleke.

The administrator had earlier been invited following Senator Melaye’s insistence that the hands of the administrator were clearly visible in the attempt on his life.
