In her lifetime, Chief (Mrs.) Bola Amole was known to be a woman of great
influence and a role model to many. Her status as a businesswoman of
international repute was never in doubt. As an agriculturist, she made her
mark and with her company, BIMS African Foods, she became one of the very
first women to import agricultural crops into the United Kingdom and the EU
from Nigeria.
Since inception in 1994, BIMS has grown to become not just a reliable
supplier of African food items, but a company Asian outlets in South London
can hardly do without.
Virtues such as diligence, generosity and loyalty complemented her
hardworking nature and she had been known for community work both in
Nigeria and the United Kingdom, even before she ventured into politics in her
home country. Her unrivaled generosity endeared her to many and she was a
source of inspiration to upcoming business people.
Her demise shortly before Nigeria's general elections last year was a rude
shock and from Ibadan to London, people mourned the exit of an icon.
On Thursday, May 19, 2016 however, Chief (Mrs) Bola Amole's contributions
again came to the fore as she was honoured at the House of Lords, United
Kingdom by the ex-Mayor of Southwark and current Councillor, Sunil Chopra.
The Certi*cate of Appreciation, which was accepted by Mrs Amole's daughter
was presented by Lord Popat, who was appointed a Minister of the Crown
Government Whip in the House of Lords, United Kingdom.
