EFP kick starts Edo Heroes and Heroines Memorial Lecture Series

Edo Focus Parliament, EFP, a nonpartisan political group has finally fixed
March as the commencement date for the recognition of Edo heroes and
heroine who have achieved noble feats in their chosen carriers. The group,
early last month hatched the ideal to commence Edo heroes and heroines
lecture series this year.

The Edo Heroes and Heroines subcommittee chaired by the respected Dr.
Osahon Enabulele came up with definitions and the purpose EFP took the task
of recognising great Edo sons and daughters upon itself; outlining the mode
of nomination of Edo heroes and heroines; selection criteria for
nomination, screening and selection of distinguished Edo heroes and
heroines.

EFP is convinced that in every progressive society premium is usually
placed on individual and societal growth through various policy initiatives
and programs, including appropriate reward and recognition of the
productive efforts of citizens in various sectors of the economy.

"The quest for self-recognition and self-esteem are well known important
determinants of job satisfaction and productivity. Therefore, the
conceptualization of the Edo Focus Heroes and Heroines Memorial Lecture
series is a laudable initiative which will undoubtedly help to recognize
the contributions and legacies of past and present Edo Heroes and Heroines,
as well as serve as a veritable avenue for the consolidation and dynamic
advancement of Edo unity, worldview, and cherished historical values and
beliefs.

"It is a concept bound to positively impact on the average Edo man/woman
and the Edo nation", the chairman said.

He further stated that the lecture/recognition series is necessary because
Nigeria and the global community is replete with Edo sons and daughters who
have made significant sacrifices and contributions, as well as the growth,
development and greatness of humanity.

EFP harps its convincion of Edo Sons and daughters greatness upon its
reflection of various developmental and historical periods of the Edo
Nation, the Nigerian state and the world at large.
