These are not the best times for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. His men and family have been exposed in public space as Nigeria’s most corrupt ever.
Just on the heels of the former minister of petroleum Dieziani Allison’s arrest and on-going investigation in London, fresh trouble looms over president Goodluck Jonathan’s household as a civil society group, Public Rights International petitions president Mohammadu Buhari to investigate Goodluck Jonathan’s nephew Barrister Robert Azibaola, alleging massive fraud running into hundreds of billions of Naira involving Azibaola’s company Kakaartar CE. Limited, which was formally known as Mangrovetech Constructions.
In a chat with one of our field reporters, the Public Rights International claims to have obtained intelligence documents and briefings on financial information regarding Barrister Robert Azibaola’s extensive acts of corruption as evidenced by numerous uncompleted yet abandoned federal projects that were awarded to him with the influence of former President Jonathan. Sources say Robert Azibaola had addressed issues with the many affected communities and offices that seek redress with arrogance and a crude impunity that seems to say he is untouchable due to his relationship with the ex-president.
The petition is said to have details of irregularities in the awarding, mobilisation payments and codification processes for most of the projects. The petition also exposes the roles played by the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, the immediate past Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Gabriel C. Amuchi, and the former Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar ; all of these will be made available in our very next edition to be published on Friday the 19th of October 2015. Keep a date with us!
