News just reached me that Channels TV, acting on a directive handed down to it by The Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) yanked off today’s episode of Moment of Truth, a Latter Rain Assembly TV program about 48 minutes after Pastor Tunde Bakare commenced The State of The Nation broadcast in which the Theme: “The Gathering Storm & Avoidable Shipwreck: How To Avoid Catastrophic Euroclydon” was examined. Report also confirms that this action is causing anger among viewers. My sincere counsel is that people should not get angry at this. Sincerely, there is no need to either get angry or be frustrated by this event as unfortunate as it seems. Anger is a negative emotion that does no good to those who harbor it.
Anger wears people out while it also shifts people's attention from focusing on the real issue. Anger also takes people’s focus off God. This is not what Nigeria needs at this hour. What is needed is eternal vigilance and total focus on the issues touched on in the message. Pastor Bakare has given the word of God as given to him by God. That is his assignment and he has delivered. It is left for those in authority to do what is needful.
It is also for hearers to become doers by making necessary adjustments so that the wrath of God does not follow God’s warning. Every true prophecy has a way of getting to its destination and fulfilling its intended purpose. Every true prophecy could be likened to guided missile that never misses targets. And surely, this prophetic proclamation will not miss its target expect through positive response demonstrated by genuine repentance anchored on obedience which manifests in concrete positive actions. Prophecy is not a proclamation of sanctions.
Prophecy is not a divine judgement either. Instead, prophecy is a divine counsel that should lead to genuine repentance with a view to bringing about correction to avoid God’s wrath. And this is what this message is all about. This message, contrary to some misinterpretation, is not solely about President Goodluck Jonathan. It is about him but it is also about Nigeria and Nigerians. Also,this message is not solely about PDP.
It is about PDP but it is also about APC. Of course President Goodluck Jonathan, as the President and Commander in Chief of The Nigerian Armed Forces embodies everything about Nigeria’s leadership. Consequently therefore, President Jonathan is the only one who must see to it that Nigeria heeds this divine counsel so that the consequence of disobedience will not fall on his head as the number one citizen of Nigeria.
However, if the truth be told, this message is about the destiny of Nigeria and what PDP and APC do between now and February 14 and afterwards. This being so, this message requires the actions of all Nigerians with President Goodluck Jonathan taking the lead. I hope President Jonathan will be able to do this. He carries the largest part of the burden to do what is right. And if he responds with disobedience, the dire consequence of disobedience will fall directly on his head. It is in this sense that I take the position that NBC’s directive is a great mistake which portends great danger for President Goodluck Jonathan as a person and as President of Nigeria.
The word of God has gone forth today through the broadcast given by Pastor Tunde Bakare and there is no taking it back. This word is an arrow. And it is the arrow of truth which only shoots in one direction, that is, forward and never backward. This word is a Prophetic Axe. And a prophetic Axe is like Sword of Damocles. Nobody fights God and wins. Let whoever is contemplating such an adventure in Nigeria ask Lucifer.
