An Oyo PDP Chieftain, Dr Kola Balogun has said that the 2015 gubernatorial election in Oyo Station would be a mere referrendum on the performances of former Gov. Adebayo Alao-Akala and Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.
“The incumbent government in Oyo State is the most tragic in terms of development and relationship with the masses.
“Alao-Akala’s government concentrated more on poverty reduction, reduction in unemployment, Infrastructural develoment and inequalitis.
“We made physical infrastructure our priority and did not neglect what the people now referred to as ‘Stomach Infrastructure,” he said.
Balogun said that the Alao-Akala government constructed many roads across the state and were done locally to keep money in circulation within the state.
He said that the administration of Alao-Akala constructed the over 80km Otu-Igbojaye- road, 55km Ado-Awaye/Okeho road, 62km Okaka-Alaka-Saki road, 66km Iganna-Iwerelle road with a gigantic bridge.
Some others projects from the Oke-Ogun zone was the construction of Oke-Ogun FM radio station.
Balogun, also a former Commissioner for Works in the state said that Alao-Akala’s government in the Ibadan zone dualised the Challenge- Odo-Ona Elewe road, Mokola-Ojo road with street lights.
Also among them was the dualisation of the Mokola-Queen Cinema-Dugbe-Oke Ado road with street light, Arapaja village road, Iwo road-Idi Ape-Mapo road, Alao-Akala road and Queens school road to mention few.
He said that Alao-Akala renovated the historical Mapo hall, reconstructed the Adeoyo Hospital.
Balogun said that the govenment also constructed the Iware-Akinmorin, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education road in Oyo, renovated the historical Abiodun Atiba memorial hall.
He said that the administration built a world class Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, FM radio station in Gambari, distributed cocoa seedlings to farmers and macro-credit loans to small and medium scale traders.
Balogun said that he had been very active engaging the grassroot, likewise Alao-Akala since they left government.
He said that the Alao-Akala government received a sum of N400m as SUBEB/UBEC second best in Nigeria, N50 million as second best in the south-west and another N100million as the best in the south-west.
Balogun said the administration constructed and renovated many school buildings to mention few from the arrays of achievements in physical infrastructure development.
“This government can not doubt the quality of our jobs, maybe you are quoting them out of context. How do they want to prove that when they still busy battling with the Apete bridge three years after,”he said.
He said that all the projects were there for the people to see, adding that they were not ready for propaganda.
