Africa’s leading retail shop giant Shoprite has thrown its weight of support behind FoodClique Support Initiative in a bid to help tackle hunger on the Nigerian shores and also fulfill its corporate social responsibility in the society.
In kick-starting the campaign, Shoprite will be providing non-perishable food items which will be distributed to various families in need on their behalf by FoodClique Support Initiative.
Over the years Corporate Social Responsibility remains a key aspect to Shoprite's business. Through their Community Network a good number of charity organisations and schools have benefited and they are glad to partner with FoodClique Support Initiative in tackling hunger as they support them to feed hundreds of people who starve to bed every night in the ongoing awareness program to eradicate hunger.
The Founder and CEO of FoodClique Bolajoko Fadipe on his part expressed his delight at the development stating “We are excited to partner with Shoprite to help raise awareness for domestic hunger and ensure more families have meals on their tables on a regular basis.”
This partnership comes as a rallying point in the wake of the freedom from hunger bill recently sponsored by Senator Theodore Orji while we hope that this remarkable step by Shoprite will act as a clarion call in eradicating hunger in Nigeria and inspire many more corporate bodies to partner with hunger relief organisations to put food on the tables of an estimated 795 million people who go to bed hungry world wide.
