The advantage of having young and vibrant individuals take over the mantle of leadership is beginning to bear fruits judging by the various activities of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty,Oba Ogunwusi Adeyeye Enitan.Yesterday the Ooni of Ife played host to Miss Oodua Beauty Pageant contestants, Miss Oodua 2015, Miss Olumo, Miss Oya and the crew members.
The Kabiyesi praised the efforts of the Chief Promoter of Olokun Festival,Otunba Gani Adams the initiator of the Miss Oodua annual beauty pageant, he said it is a job well done especially the initiative of incorporating younger generation to our cultural promotion through organising 5 pageants in a year in honour of prominent Yoruba festivals with car gift to the winner and some cash for 1st and 2nd runner up.
He advised the pageant organisers to always teach the contestants the good culture and tradition of Yorubaland. The Ooni of Ife lectured the team on the importance of Yoruba culture in the society explaining that God Almighty is God of 3 who understands the 3 types of religion practised in Yorubaland. Miss Oodua Beauty Pageant holds today Wednesday January 20th 2016 at Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife. State of Osun from 5pm while the Grand finale of Oodua Festival will hold tomorrow,Thursday at the arcade in Ooni of Ife's Palace.
