In a communique signed by the Senate President of Students' Representative Assembly, Saidu Mohammed Kandi and issued to the press yesterday stated that they suspended the Executive officers due to the endorsement of political apirants without due consultation of Niger state students, collected cash from The Executive Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu without not informing the assembly to ensure that the money is spent with full financial discipline. They asked the suspended officer why there has been freeze in payment for over eight months if #25 million hits the scholarship account every month. The trio were also suspended because they breached the constitutional matters such as appointment of chief of staff, violated the section 7(2).
The congress which was held at Assembly Hall, College of Education, Minna, reiterated their promise not to welcome any illogical partisan fellow who fly with conceit and ego. They assured the students to sanitize the association from corruption and the disdains of pseudo-democratic flaws.
The communique informed the concerned citizens of the glorious association of the capacity of the association if used as an instrument of democracy and the harms it can cause if left as some people proffer ‘’mutilated beyond recognition if defined by character and functions’’.
The Students' Representative Assembly [SRA] of the National Association of Niger state Students [NANISS] has thereby appointed the Vice President, Comrade Hauwa Ibrahim Ahmad as the Acting President of the association and the Assistant Secretary General, Comrade Abubakar Mohammed Nma as the Secretary General of the indigenous association. The appointment was stated to take immediate effect by virtue of the constitution of the association.
Shehu Mohammed Chanta, Abubakar Abdullahi and Yusuf Mohammed are all suspended for six (6) weeks until they stand trial before the Disciplinary committee of the Association.
