flooded the AFRIMA website with entries from across the continent and
from Africans in the Diaspora, the International Committee of AFRIMA was
under pressure from the African music industry to extend the closing
date to accommodate the late entrants who are eager to be part of the
award process but are constrained by limited internet access in their
various cities.

Coordinated). The entry guidelines remain as before on AFRIMA website:

Explaining
further, AFRIMA Director of Brand Communications and Sponsorship, Ms.
Matlou Tsotetsi said: “First, I must say we are impressed by the level
of participation by Africa, on the continent and in the Diaspora, in the
entry submission process. This is an encouraging success marker for us
considering the fact that we surpassed the one thousand (1000) mark. We
are receiving entries from African music professionals in countries like
Finland, Germany, and other interesting locations.
“Secondly, some
regions of Africa have appealed to us for this extension and we are
obligated to accede to them in the spirit of our FACE IT value of
Fairness, Accountability, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity and
Transparency. There can be no fair play or competition if there is no
equal representation. We hope this 14 days will give everyone a chance
to get involved in AFRIMA”.

partnership with the African Union Commission and Ministry of Industry,
Trade and Investment in Nigeria, the 2014 All Africa Music Awards will
