BUHARI IS INTELLECTUALLY INCAPABLE FOR DEBATE- PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation yesterday revealed that the All Progressives Congress [APC] decision to not participate in the Presidential debate is to shield Muhammadu Buhari’s intellectual laziness. The also went on to say that Mr. Buhari lacks the ability to constructively engage on contemporary national issues in public.
The APC had declared last thursday that they won’t participate in the planned debate due to it being organized by BON because the organisers are allegedly supporters of the PDP.
PDP’s Director of Media and Publicity, Femi Fani-Kayode said that the APC knew that Buhari would fail when questioned on issues of national governance and development.

FUNKE AKINDELE'S LAWYERS WRITE LINDA IKEJI: 'YOU WENT TOO FAR' *'APOLOGISE TO FUNKE AKINDELE NOW', LAWYERS TELL LINDA IKEJI
The mangement of star actress, Funke Akindele, has condemned in strong terms the unwarranted posts by blogger, Linda Ikeji, ascribing a harmless picture on the award winning role interpreter's Instagram's page to be a mockery of the alleged separation between her colleague, Toyin Aimakhu and her husband, Adeniyi Johnson.
While Linda went too far and assumed the role of a mind reader and a judge in her Sunday, January 25, 2015 post: “DID FUNKE AKINDELE SHADE TOYIN AIMAKHU LAST NIGHT?”, she has exposed the favourite actress to cynical comments and hasty judgements.
Her post, did not only portray the Funke Akindele's brand in bad light, it has promoted unhealthy rivalry where there is none. Meanwhile, as a law abiding citizen and well-loved by all and sundry, Funke, through her lawyers, had on same day, Sunday, January 25, 2015, via email, written a letter to Linda demanding a retraction and apology within 24 hours or face action within the ambit of law.

AMNESTY'S INTERNATIONAL ALLEGATIONS UNFAIR AND MISLEADING
Below is a press release from the director of defence information as regards false allegations by Amnesty International on terrorism in Nigeria;
Being an area of operation where terrorists are known to be ever looking for the slightest opportunity to attack and perpetrate heinous atrocities, Nigerian troops are conversant with the need to maintain the highest form of alertness always.
Every available information is factored into the intelligence that drives every engagement or encounter in any part of the mission area. This standard has not only been sustained but has been incrementally enhanced in terms of capacity, troop’s deployment, coordination, troop’s mobility and protection as well as logistics.
Regular patrols, surveillance, pursuit and actual combat engagement to curtail or forestall terrorists’ activities and threats are also conducted. This has substantially succeeded in preventing, frustrating or minimising the effect of terrorists’ dastardly intentions and actions. This also accounts for why the main intention of terrorists attack on Maiduguri and other places could not succeed.
The effort of Amnesty International to use these unfortunate activities of terrorists to find fault with the counter terrorism operations as usual, is inaccurate and unfair.
In actual fact, the protection of civilian population is the essence the entire counter terrorism operation. It therefore remains the priority in all the indeed, the troops were prepared and duly engaged the terrorists in all the instances referred to by Amnesty International.
The misleading conclusions by Amnesty International could have been avoided if they had made meaningful efforts to verify the inciting allegations. Whatever be the intention, the allegations, at best can only constitute a distractive and misleading commentary or interpretation of the terrorists’ activities, the efforts to curb them and the actual situation on the ground in Nigeria.
The Nigerian security forces remain willing and capable of discharging the responsibility of defending the country's territory and people.
Every intrigue aimed at undermining the nation's capacity to handle its security challenges.

Writing on Sahara Reporters, a public affairs analyst and lawyer, Bunmi Awoyemi, dissects the recent speeches of Bishop David Oyedepo and Vice-President Alhaji Namadi Sambo.
Read below:
” I was shocked when a man of God, Bishop David Oyedepo who I respect so much said in his church some days ago that his members should slaughter any one that looks like a terrorist. The key word there is “anyone that looks like.”
While I am 100% in support of self defense, I abhor tribal profiling and targeting. When this happens, innocent lives are bound to be lost. Then in the 3rd service of his Church on Sunday, January 25, 2015, attended by President Jonathan, my dear Bishop Oyedepo said in a comment directed at President Jonathan “We will open the gates of hell on those who oppose you. When God enthrones you no one can dethrone you”
