Tragedy In Saudi Arabia!!!.....At least 700 dead, 719 hurt in hajj stampede


A huge stampede killed at least 700 people and injured hundreds more at the annual hajj in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, in the pilgrimage’s worst tragedy in a quarter century.
The stampede, the second deadly accident to hit the pilgrims this month following a crane collapse in Mecca, broke out during the symbolic stoning of the devil ritual, the Saudi civil defence service said.
The service said that it was still counting the dead, who included pilgrims from different countries, and that at least 719 people had also been hurt.

President Buhari Speaks On Falae's Abduction, Orders Police To Rescue Him


President Buhari has directed the IG of Police and other security agencies to take all necessary action to ensure the safe and speedy rescue of former presidential candidate, Chief Olu Falae who was abducted from his farm in Ondo state on Monday September 21st by suspected herdsmen.

Amaechi Sues PDP Over Criminal Allegations, Seeks N300M Damages.


Former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has filed a suit at an Abuja High court against the PDP in Rivers state, the state party chairman Felix Obuah and two others over allegations that he embezzled $757 million(N80 billion) while he served as governor of the state.

In a statement he released yesterday September 22nd, Amaechi pointed out that the state PDP had on August 6, and August 21, 2015, alleged that he stole the sum and stashed them in an account in his name in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, United State of America.

I Am Going Through Trial Because I Am The Senate President - Senator Saraki


Senator Bukola Saraki says he is being tried at the Code of Conduct Tribunal because he is the Senate President. In a personal statement he signed yesterday September 22nd, Saraki said
"I reiterate my belief that the only reason while I am going through this trial is because I am senate president. If I were to be just a senator, I doubt if anybody will be interested in the asset declaration form I filled over twelve years ago".

We Remain Solidly Behind Saraki- Nigerian Senators

Members of the Senate have have made it clear that no political, vindictive and mischievous trial will make them change their opinion about Senator Saraki being their president. The senators said this in a statement they released yesterday which was signed by Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba
"We also want to state here, on behalf of our colleagues, that the Senate remains solidly behind Senator Saraki and we express our unalloyed support for his leadership. We reiterate the fact that he is our choice for the post of Senate President and no politically motivated, mischievous and vindictive trial will change our opinion of him." the statement read

Falae's abduction, a sin against humanity.




 The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), in the strongest possible terms, hereby  condemn the abduction of Chief Olu Falae by Fulani herdsmen in Akure, Ondo State.
It is indeed a sad development that Chief Falae, aside from being prominent Yoruba son, was a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
His abduction is not only ungodly, but also a sin against humanity.

Nigeria Military Reports Multiple Bombing In Maiduguri And Borno State



Press statement from Nigeria military on multiple bomb attacks in Maiduguri, Borno state
This is to inform the public that there were three improvised explosive devices explosions at Gomari and Ajilari general area in Maiduguri at about 7.21pm today evening. Although details are not clear, it is important to note the attacks signify high level of desperation on the part of the Boko Haram terrorists.
Security personnel and emergency management teams have been drafted to the area and appropriate security measures being taken. We would like to state that the Nigerian military would not be deterred in its determined efforts of defeating Boko Haram terrorists in the shortest possible time. We would like to assure the public also that now the terrorists have shown their ugly presence in such areas, there is need for more vigilance, security consciousness and prompt reporting of suspicious persons or group of persons in their midst.
