WOLRD'S OLDEST MAN, SAKARI MOMOI CELEBRATES 112TH BIRTHDAY


The world’s oldest man Sakari Momoi has celebrated his 112th birthday with his family in Japan.
Sakari Momoi is a Japanese super centenarian and is the world’s oldest living man. He took the title after Mr. Alexander Imich from United States passed away at the age of 111 years and 124 days in 2014. Imich was only one day older than Momoi.

Momoi was born on 5 February 1903 in Fukushima city, became a teacher and later worked as the principal of high schools in Fukushima and Saitama prefecture. In 1928, he married the late Ms. Tamiko and had 5 children. His record age was verified using his birth certificate and several other official documents.

Mr. Momoi lives in the hospital in Tokyo. He likes reading, especially Chinese poetry. He also enjoys traveling around Japan with his wife before she passed away. His family is very pleased with the record, but requesting for the peaceful atmosphere for their father.
