Unity Bank Plc has been recognized as one of the top 100 businesses in Nigeria in an award ceremony organized by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The top 100 companies award which is the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria is aimed at celebrating major investors and companies that are contributing to the development of the economy.
The criteria for the selection which was based on international best practices took into consideration the investment portfolio of the companies in the Nigerian economy, employment creation, level of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and contributions to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
In the letter conveying the award, the bank was recognized for firmly establishing itself as a leading business, being a major driver of the Nigerian economy and a committed partner in the socio-economic development and promotion of business enterprises.
Unity Bank Plc was one of the 16 banks recognized for its strategic focus, responsiveness, commitment to the development and promotion of investment opportunities especially in the areas of Agriculture, Rural Economy and SME business in the Nigerian economy.
At the award dinner which was held at the State House, Abuja, the Bank was represented by Alhaji Lamis Shehu DIkko, Chairman Board of Directors of Unity Bank Plc and Henry James Semenitari, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Unity Bank Plc who received the award on behalf of the bank dedicated it to members of staff who have worked tirelessly in ensuring that the Bank sustains its drive and focus to deliver on its business objective.
