Osun State Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola has approved the appointment of Prince Isaac Adeyeba Ayeni as the new Akinla of Erin Ijesha in Ori ade Local Government area of the state.
The appointment came 17 years, 17 days after the demise of Oba Adeyinka Adeosun. Learnt there had been tussle among the rulling houses of the town.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Sunday said his administration has the will and capacity to fight all forms of crime and criminality in the state, just as he read the riot act to persons who have taken to kidnapping, warning that there would be no hiding place for such act.

The governor, who addressed journalists on the safe rescue of the three girls abducted by gunmen from the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in Ikorodu last Monday, warned that the state government will spare nothing to clamp down on all forms of crime in the state.

Gunmen have beheaded a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The APC chieftain identified as Franklin Obi was murdered alongside his wife, Iheoma, and 18-year-old son, Bestman, at their residence in Omoku at about 9pm on Saturday.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo, who is currently on a visit to the place, expressed regret over the incident.

Alesh Akeem Lost His Dad After Meeting American Singer Ciara (Metronews report)

It has been confirmed that the father of Alesh Akeem, Nigerian student
and artist who recently presented a portrait to award winning American
singer, Ciara is dead.

Alesh Akeem’s father Mr. Ismail Oriyomi Aleshinloye, was confirmed dead
in the early hours of Tuesday 1st of March 2016 after experiencing
serious of difficulties in breathing.

Akeem who just spoke to the media after coming out of the shock of his
father’s death accounted “As of 1:30am on Tuesday, I was reading
comments about my presentation to Ciara on Nairaland, when mum rushed
into my room asking me to come see my dad, on seeing him, I saw the
worst expression on his face with little tears struggling for breath. He
managed to tell us he couldn’t breathe, without wasting time, we rushed
him out to the hospital. Four hospitals didn’t attend to us until we
took him to the 5th and they confirmed he was dead.”

Alesh Akeem Facebook Post reads: “Wish my dad lived to see his son
trends all over the globe, but unfortunately, the man who gave me his
last penny for transportation to deliver this, on Sunday, 2 days ago,
passed away about 1:30am on Tuesday, yesterday; about time I delivered
my‪#‎Artsassination.
Well, his heart lives in me, I'll make you proud dad; I PROMISE...This

Ismail Oriyomi Aleshinloye who died at 71 was buried on the same day
according to Islamic religious rites and was survived by Wife, Children
and Grandchildren.

Minister of state for Labour and employment James Ocholi (SAN) is dead. He died in a ghastly motor accident on his way to Kaduna on Sunday.
Daily Trust learnt that the minister’s wife and son were also in the ill-fated car including his aide-de-camp. Ocholi is from Kogi state.
