The Police High Command yesterday in Abuja exonerated its officers who reportedly attacked members of the National Assembly Thursday, from any blame saying that the officers carried out their duties of barricading the complex to prevent Speaker Aminu Tambuwal from gaining access, satisfactorily.

Also Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that “No Commissioner of Police will ever embark on such an action without the clearance of the Inspector General of police and no IGP will order his men out without approval by the Presidency. Nigerians know where the buck stops. The Jonathan Presidency must take full responsibility for the attack on the leadership of the National Assembly.”

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, the Paradigm posted on its blog site the report that the former Group Managing Director/CEO of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Alex Otti OFR, has converted one of   the Bank’s properties located at Library Road, Umuahia, Abia State to his political campaign office. The report also alleged that Dr. Otti “in cooperation with his stooges in the bank” has laid conduits through which he siphons depositors’ funds to finance his gubernatorial campaign in Abia State. We have studied the report, investigated the allegations and found it not only to be spurious but also baseless and malicious.

Popular Radio Presenter Opeyemi Fajemilehin Is Dead

This will come as a rude shock to many yoruba radio programme listeners as info reaching Metronews is that popular radio presenter and one time General Manager of Ara FM Opeyemi Fajemilehin is dead.

He was said to have been been diabetic and gave up the ghost last night at his Ilesha residence. Details shortly.

Born in the mid-fifties in Igede Ekiti in the present Ekiti State,Opeyemi Fajemilehin attended both primary and secondary schools in Ekiti State and Ikire in Osun State respectiely.He equally studied at Lagos Sec. Comm. Academy(LASCA) now known as Ilupeju College,Obanikoro Lagos.
   He proceeded to Nigeria Institute of Journalism(NIJ),Ogba and passed out with honours.
    A versatile Yoruba broadcast journalist with over 25 years experience in the industry,Opeyemi Fajemilehin is also an Ewi exponent with19 recorded works to his credit.
    Today,he presents "FAJEMILEHIN ON FM" and "PIRILOLOGO NJI" on Radio Lagos Ikeja;He Anchors "FAJEMILEHIN ON THE ROCK" on Paramount FM 94.5,Abeokuta.He has also written three books:"EWI IWOYI","EWI KIKA ATI KIKE", and "ENI BIMO ORAN".

    Opeyemi Fajemilehin has received many honours/awards including "ALOYINLOUN" given by Yoruba Scholars of Obafemi Awolowo Ile-Ife,University.He is the 1s National Vice President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN).

Murtala’s Son Targets PDP Governorship Ticket In Kano

A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Kano, Alhaji Abba Mohammed, on Wednesday in Abuja, promised to give priority to electricity and boost the economy of the state if elected the state governor in 2015.

Mohammed, son of the late former Head of State, Gen. Murtala Muhammed, spoke to newsmen after submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms for the state governorship election in 2015.

A former vice-president, and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and a national leader of APC, former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu, held separate meetings with a former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday.

The meetings held at Obasanjo’s Hilltop presidential residence in Abeokuta.
