Comrade Niyi Osoba has emerged the Ogun State Chairman of the Labour Party. He was voted in as the State Chairman of the party on Wednesday, 26th March, 2014 by party delegates, who converged at the Centenary Hall, Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun state, southwest Nigeria, to choose the officers who will steer the ship of the party for the next three years as stipulated by the constitution of the party and directed by the national leadership of the party. The event which was coordinated by the Deputy National Chairman of the party in the southwest, Hon Joseph Akinlaja and witnessed by the representatives of Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), officers of the Nigeria Police Force and the State Security Service (SSS) has thousands of party members present.

2 Vehicles Plunge Into Canal In Lagos



Agency Report

Two vehicles have plunged into a canal in front of the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, within 12 hours, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The accidents bring to four, the number of such occurrences at the canal in the past three months.

An ash colour Toyota Camry marked GGE 196 AR fell into the canal on Sunday night with a lone occupant, the driver, while a wine colour Opel Omega marked JJN 583 AA conveying three brothers plunged into the canal at about 9am on Monday.

The vehicles were both brought out of the water on Monday morning and all the four people are alive.

NAN gathered that the Camry took off from the National Theatre a few seconds before it skidded off the road and plunged into the canal.

One of the occupants of the Opel Omega, Mr Ifeanyi Stephen, said he took no notice of the canal.

“We were driving and thinking that the road was straight because we are not conversant with this route. By the time we got there, we saw that the place was water-logged.

“We applied the brake but the car didn’t stop and that was how it fell into the water,” he narrated.

SkyNews: Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Crashed Into Indian Ocean

Satellite data has confirmed that Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 crashed into the southern Indian Ocean.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak held a news conference today confirming that all those on the flight have been lost.
He said satellite data provided by a UK company, Inmarsat, showed the plane's last recorded position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth.
"This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites," Mr Razak said.
