Four armed men on Thursday evening invaded Adekunle Ajasin University in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo state, abducting two expatriate engineers handling the construction of the school’s Senate building.

Mu’azu meets Babangida in Minna


The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, on Friday held a closed door meeting with former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, at his residence in Minna, Niger State.
The PDP chairman also met the Niger State governor, Babangida Aliyu.
Mu’azu led a 15-man team to the former president’s residence in the afternoon and immediately went into the closed-door meeting.

According to a statement released by the Bank as at press time, the Ondo State Government guaranteed a facility to a related party in April 2008 and the Bank only exercised its rights under the terms of the agreement by setting off outstanding sums against the State Government funds with the Bank.

Kogi Internal Revenue Hits N500m


Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has said that the state monthly  internally generated revenue has risen to N500 million.

Wada, who said this during an interactive session with journalists to mark his two year anniversary in office, said when he assumed office, internally generated revenue was between N70 million to N100 million.

Defecting Senators protest Ekweremadu’s ‘refusal’ to read letter


It was a battle of wits in the Senate on Thursday as 11 Senators who tendered a letter of defection from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) demanded that their letter be read on the floor of the Senate.
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided in the absence of Senate President, David Mark, blocked the efforts of the defectors to have the letter read.

Kwara Plans Infrastructure Development Fund


 Kwara State Government has concluded arrangements to set up an Infrastructure Development Fund to provide a pool of Funds to finance a holistic infrastructure development of the state.
According to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, who stated this at the monthly interactive program "The governor Explains",  the State needs about N300billion to up scaling of infrastructure in the State to an acceptable standard.

Housewife In NDLEA Net For Sending Heroin To Hubby Abroad


Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a consignment of 195 grammes of heroin inside a bag of female artificial hair at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. The seizure was made on December 31, 2013 during search of luggage to Monrovia, Liberia in an Arik flight. Officials have arrested the consignor, a 34 year old housewife, Nsofor Ngozi Anderlin for attempting to export the drug to her husband in Liberia.

Indigenes of Lagos State have expressed gratitude to the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for nominating one of them, Ambassador Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, as a minister.
Obanikoro and 11 others eminent Nigerians are awaiting clearance by the Senate for confirmation as minister.
