NMS Africa defies Recession … Kicks off Supercharged Edition

The Next Movie Star (NMS) Africa, has, yet again, demonstrated its staying power and firmness of purpose by defying the current hard-biting recession in Nigeria and forging ahead with the 12th Season and of what has now become Africa’s most consistent Reality TV Show.

“The 12th Season of NMS, which we tag Supercharged Edition, is underway!” Sola Fajobi, (NMS Producer) delightedly exclaimed at a News Conference yesterday.

The Economy is biting but we are forging ahead. We’ve been here for 11years. Have discovered more talents for Africa than any other Reality TV Shows. We have been up. We have been down. And on our 12th year, we have the fortitude to succeed, even when our backs are up against some ‘recession’ wall. And those are some qualities we instil in our Housemates, especially, during our Training and Grooming (T&G) Session – strength of character, strength of mind, moral strength.

The T&G holds for 2 weeks at a Resort Centre, and it is meant to polish and prepare the Housemates for stardom. The Supercharged Housemates of 2016 have already been selected after some rigorous auditions held in Ghana, Liberia, and Nigeria. In Nigeria, regional auditions where first held in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt before a final National Audition in Lagos.

Auditions were judged by veteran Actors in the shape of Nobert Young, Segun Arinze, Bukky Ogunnote, and Kingsley Ogboso. They were joined by two respected Journalists – Shina Oyetayoand Sunday Adebayo.

30,000 prospects registered this year alone. 1000 were auditioned. Out of this number, 13 were picked from Nigeria, 4 from Ghana, and 2 from Liberia. After 30 Days in the House, a Winner will emerge; will be rewarded with a Brand New Car, Cash, and lots for Movie Contracts.

“The 2016 Winner,” Fajobi guarantees “will obviously be a Supercharged Winner. He or She, along with the entire Class of 2016 will join the growing list of Super stars we have discovered for the entertainment industry in Africa since 2005.

Tonto Dike, Uti Nwachukwu, VJ Adams, Annie Idibia, Tamara Eteimo, Belinda Effah, Kevin Chuwang Pam, Karen Igho, Kingsley Ogboso, and a Celebrity host of many others are talents The Next Movie Star has produced for the entertainment industry in Africa, since the Show began 12 years ago
