FIRST BANK DIRECTOR DAUDA LAWAL MAY END UP IN JAIL..... Read How Greed Got Him Into Trouble
The popular saying that as long as greed is stronger than compassion there will always be suffering, this is the situation of one the executive director of First Bank Plc who because of greed put himself into serious problem and is now under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over his role in the multi million dollar money laundering that involves the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison Maduekwe. Many didn't know that Dauda Lawal collected the money in his private capacity and not on behalf of First bank Plc.
The genesis of his trouble was because he didn't want his other colleagues in the bank to know about the shady deals obviously not for him to share his loots with anyone hence his decision to divert it to Fidelity bank. Dauda was said to be the arrow head of those who bought Port-Harcourt Sheraton for Dieziani with the money he collected from her.
There are conflicting stories about the exact amount of the money involved while the EFCC claimed that the money is in the region of $25m Lawal fired back that it was an exaggeration that the money he collected was not up to that but one thing that he can't deny was that he collected money from Dieziani.
Right now the management of First Bank has come out to deny their involvement. The Bank washed its hand and claim that they have nothing to do with illegal transactions that he acted in his own capacity and not on behalf of the bank. This statement jolted Dauda Lawal since he expected that the bank would come to his aid to defend him.
According to an insider, who will blame the bank management that came out with damning verdict against one of there own especially in this Buhari anti corruption war having known that any slight mistake may lead to doom for any organizations that is caught in the web of corruption.
Now, Dauda Lawal is running from pillar to post to save his neck from the impending doom and probably earn him a jail term. He was said to run away to Mecca,in Saudi Arabia to observe the lesser hajj where he prayed to God to deliver him from the problems he brought to himself all because of his greed.
The die is indeed cast for Lawal; further findings revealed that the embattled First Bank Executive Director set himself up for disgrace by his excessive greed and lust for quick money. Sources within First Bank disclosed that he had always carried himself around like a Lord of other people’s manor. Lawal allegedly displayed the proclivities of a man perpetually angling to hit a fortune, particularly through illicit channels.
While EFCC is still combing for further documents to further nail him, it remains a miracle if his spiritual voyages will help him. Trust us to feed you with details as they unfold.
