The social cultural group,Oodua Progressive Union(OPU) with Otunba Gani Adams the world Convener formed for Yorubas in diaspora is now a registered Organisation in Europe.
According to Lanre Sunmonu,the OPU General Secretary, it is with joy that we announce to the world that our Organisation in now fully registered as a recognized socio-cultural Organisation in Europe. With this registration, OPU is now fully recognized by the governments of Europe.
OPU started in 2011 with the launch of the India chapter,and today boasts of 66chapters already launched with 25 chapter in the pipeline due to be launched.
Oodua Progressive Union is a body formed to champion the socio-cultural ideals of Yoruba residing outside the country, it seeks to give the Yoruba race a common platform with strong network in all the countries spread across the globe.
The spread of OPU is occasioned the determined efforts of the Convener, Otunba Gani Adams with his visionary team who are set to bring the Yoruba race in diaspora under a common umbrella with its common heritage as the guiding principle of the Organisation.
Kenya, Italy and Finland will have their chapters launched in June, while the Africa Union chapters will have their their continent congress in Adis Ababa, Ethiopia, in September this year.
Canada is also gearing up for its launch in the month of August while the United States launch is under consideration this year.
