Read What Tinubu Said About Buhari On Saturday...
On Saturday, Former Lagos State governor, Senator Ahmed
Bola Tinubu was conferred with Honoris Causa Doctorate
Degree of Business Administration (DBA), by the Usman
Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
According to LEADERSHIP, immediately after the
conferment, Tinubu spoke about President Muhammadu
Buhari's agenda for Nigeria.
He said, “To make those changes is not going to be easy. To
turn around a bad situation is not easy. It is very, very
easy for those who are greedy, for those who are looking
for instant money in their pockets and reward in their
stomach to think that change is easy.
“Change is not about the comfort of today but the success
of tomorrow. Until we start to do these things ourselves we
cannot progress. Who told you that we cannot make this
cotton that we used in making these academic gowns for
Nigerians by Nigerians”.
“When we were coming from the Sokoto Airport, we saw
good arable land and therefore, we advised that, let’s begin
to spend our money on irrigation so that no more rice is
imported into Nigeria, rather it should be rice from Sokoto,
Kebbi and other states.
“A nation is not a surviving country, until you can feed
your citizens. But I rather go hungry than gain a corn
from China or India.
“Let’s feed ourselves. Today, Buhari is at the helm of
affairs of this country and his focus is that, I don’t care
what dollar is but my own is not for toothpicks.
“Nigeria must be for Nigerians. Our resistances must come
from our prosperity. Must come from our homes and the
works of our hands. The best of our tomorrow in yet to
come” Tinubu averred.
