APC To Challenge Result As David Mark Wins Benue South Senatorial Rerun


Former Senate President, David Mark, has won the rescheduled Benue South Senatorial polls held on Saturday across nine local government councils with a margin of 12,571 votes against rival Daniel Onjeh of the APC. 

Declaring the results on Sunday at Otukpo, the Returning Officer for the election, Prof Shaibu Inigi, said Mark polled 84,192 votes to defeat Daniel Onjeh of the APC with 71, 621votes. 
Mark won in five local government councils. 
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the difference in the number of votes between the two was 12,571 
In his acceptance speech, Mark commended his supporters for standing by him throughout the period of the electioneering and the INEC for upholding the sanctity of the electoral process. 
Onjeh said that he would challenge Mark's victory at the election tribunal.
