Rescuers Evacuate Victims from Jimeta Mosque Explosion


An explosion has occurred this afternoon during Jumuat Service at a mosque in Jambutu area of Jimeta, Adamawa State.
Jimeta is a suburb of Yola, the Adamawa State Capital.

Emergency workers have so far evacuated victims to Specialist Hospital in Jimeta and Federal Medical Centre in Yola.

PRNigeria gathered that the mosque was newly repainted and the explosion occurred at the perimeter of the crowded mosque.

A health worker confirmed that staffs of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have deposited at least 15 corpses in the mortuary while over 40 injured victims are being treated in the hospitals.
