MIKE ENAHORO IS DEAD

Tribute: Mike Enahoro, The Man With The Golden Voice

For those who were old enough in the the 1970s to 1980s, he was one of those who made NTA news worth listening to. With his baritone voice, flawless diction and traditional Ishan dress code that exposed his smooth chest to the admiration of his fans, especially his femalefolks, Mike Enahoro was a delight to watch as he read the 7 pm and 9 pm Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network News which NTA claimed had over 30 million audience despite the fact that not many Nigerians owned black and white TV set which was the vogue then.

With the likes of Julie Coker, Bode Alalade, Sienne Allwell Brown, Joe Ebuwa, television viewers looked forward to 9 pm to listen to the news read by Enahoro.
Though, as at the time of filing this report, the larger Enahoro family of Uromi, Edo State is yet to make  formal statement on the passing of their son who joined his creator on Friday October 9.
Mike, hails from the popular Enahoro family that produced Chief Anthony Enahoro, the foremost nationalist who in 1957 moved the motion for Nigeria’s independence from the British and the famous Peter Enahoro (alias Peter Pan) the youngest editor of the famous Daily Times of Nigeria.
Enahoro retired from the NTA in the early 1990s.
