Ashafa sensitizes Monarchs towards 2015 Elections



The Monarchs of Kosofe and Epe divisions of Lagos East Senatorial District at the weekend endorsed the lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator 'Gbenga Ashafa in his bid for ‎a second term in office.


The two events which took place at the palace of the Oloworo of Oworoshoki, HRM Oba Bashiru Saliu at Oworoshoki and the Alara of Ilara, HRM Oba Hakeem Adesanya‎ at Eredo, Epe, witnessed the presence of all the Obas and Baales in the two divisions.


The lawmaker who received royal blessings from the monarchs used the medium to sensitize them on how to vote during the forthcoming elections and how not to render their votes invalid.


Ashafa enjoined the monarchs to canvass their people to vote for the All Progressives Congress at all levels ‎in the forthcoming elections. He said "What we should all watch out for on the ballot paper is the broom symbol. After thumb-printing in the empty box beside the symbol, the ballot paper should be folded backward in order not to make the vote invalid."


The Oloworo of Oworo, Oba Bashiru Saliu commended the lawmaker for a job well done in his first term in office.
The monarch said that "Ashafa's achievements are visible throughout the length and breadth of Kosofe axis. He deserves to run again to make things better."


Also, the Alara of Ilara, Oba Hakeem Adesanya praised the lawmaker for not forsaking his people in his first term in office and promised to back the him in his second term ambition.


"We the council of Obas at Epe division are ready to give our support ‎to the Most Distinguished Senator in the forthcoming general elections.
What he has achieved in the first four years is commendable enough and that is why he is getting the nod again this time around."


Ashafa thanked the royal fathers for the opportunity to present himself once again before them just as he did in 2011 and promised never to let them down in his quest to continue delivering more dividends of democracy ‎in Lagos East senatorial district.
