Former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel described the statement credited to Amosun on his nativity status as diversionary.
Daniel in a statement  by his media aide, Ayo Giwa said: “It is now glaring that the clock is fast ticking towards electoral defeat hence his attempt to stand history on its head by reverting to the same scenario that played itself out some 12 years ago. The  statement that Otunba Gbenga Daniel is not from Sagamu is an insult on the entire good people of the historical town of Sagamu as well as a taboo and effrontery on the traditional institutions in the land especially the thrones of the Akarigbo of Remoland as well as the Ewusi of Makun in Remo Kingdom.

Police makes official statement on Kano Explosion

Today 17/9/2014 at about 1530hrs, two armed men detonated Improvised Explosive devices at the lecture Hall of Federal College of Education, Zaria Road, Kano.
Thereafter, they began sporadic shooting outside the premises. Police team from a nearby Tactical Operations Point responded and shot dead the two (2) insurgents. Their AK 47 rifles were recovered.

DEATH SENTENCE ON 12 SOLDIERS: Nigerians React, Condemn Judgment, Urge Presidency To Revisit Judgement

SOME prominent Nigerians, on Tuesday, warned President Goodluck Jonathan to tread with caution on the death sentence passed on 12 Nigerian soldiers for munity by the military tribunal, headed by Brigadier-General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo.

According to them, the warning became necessary because of the far-reaching implications of the judgment, which the Trade Union congress (TUC), on its own, rejected.

The fear of having the Ebola Virus Disease has led a Liberian woman living in Lagos to commit suicide by hanging herself in Lagos on Friday.

The woman, identified as Kate, decided to hang herself in the early hours of Friday after falling sick and thinking that what she suffered from was the Ebola Virus Disease.
