DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE LOSES FATHER AT AGE 101






The deputy governor of Lagos state, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, yesterday lost her biological father, Prince Jimoh Kareem-Laka Orelope, aged 101. A statement signed by the special assistant (media) to the deputy governor, Mr Tunde Abatan, stated;
The devout Islamic and community leader and politician in Lagos State died in his residence of an undisclosed ailment. 
Pa Jimoh Laka was born to Akeja Oniyanru and Olugbede royal families of Lagos State on the 25th of February, 1913. He would be remembered for his philanthropic gestures to the less privileged and his commitment to community development as well as the propagation of the Islamic faith. 
A politician of high repute, he is survived by a wife, children, grand children and great grand- children among who is the incumbent deputy governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Hon Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
