Independence Day Message From Kwara Governor

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has predicted that Nigeria is destined to survive has one of the greatest and prosperous nations of the world. According to Governor Ahmed "most countries that went through trying periods as currently being experienced by the country, usually emerge strong, prosperous and united, therefore, Nigeria may not be an exception".

Dr Ahmed urged Nigerians to use the 54th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence to rededicate themselves to the ideals of national development, unity and cohesion even the face of obviously daunting socio-economic challenges.

Governor Ahmed who gave this advice in his independence anniversary congratulatory message to Nigerians signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, said despite the prevailing national challenges of insecurity and divisive tendencies, there were strong reasons for Nigerians to celebrate the country’s independence; including the fact that Nigeria’s capacity to overcome challenges has not ebbed as every national challenge had been surmounted over time.

The Governor recalled that the reports of the recently held national Delegates Conference that Nigeria’s national unity remains non-negotiable was a sound testimony that Nigeria must remain together and play critical role in the international community.
“Given our potentials and endowments in human, mineral and natural resources, Nigeria has no choice but to be in the front line of major player nations in every form of human endeavour”, the governor said.
