Ambode retraces his Ondo Origin, Visits Aregbesola with Own Senator

The controversial governorship hopeful in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, may have confirmed his true state of origin, when sometime last week he paid a visit to Governor Rauf Aregbesola in Osun State with a senator from his home state, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice.
Boroffice, who represents Ondo North, covering Ilaje area of the state, had accompanied Ambode to pay a congratulatory visit to Aregbesola following his successful showing at the August 9 governorship election in the state, an action thought to bear instructive political significance.
However, after their meeting with Aregbesola, the duo of Ambode and Boroffice took a photograph with the Osun State Governor for the records and was published in some national dailies, including the Nation Newspapers as shown above. This, observers conclude, was a clear admittance of his true state of origin, thus putting paid to his controversial patrilineage.
Since his rumoured governorship ambition, Ambode has been entangled in a few controversies, chief amongst which is the true state of his origin. Whilst he claimed to have hailed from Epe in Lagos East for ambition purposes, other findings showed that he was from Ilaje in Ondo State and one of the constituents of Boroffice.
To buttress the contrary findings, those who insisted he was from Ondo have also taken steps further to reveal some of his old school documents such as his JAMB and bursary forms where he clearly indicated Ondo as his state of Origin.
Although the frenzy over Ambode’s governorship ambition is believed to have taken a downward turn in view of the many controversies, he is also said to be taking conscious steps to identifying with his true political base and home state, a pointer being his visit to Aregbesola with Boroffice.
