Ekiti Needs Urgent Attentions - Hon Opeyemi Bamidele

Member of House of Representatives and governorship aspirant of Labour Party (LP) in Ekiti State, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele has said the state needed urgent intervention.

Bamidele said this in Abuja today while returning his Expression of Interest Form for the June 21st gubernatorial polls back to the leadership of the party led by Chief Dan Nwanyanwu.

According to Bamidele, Ekiti people would not just see the June election as a mere political exercise, but a struggle to salvage the state from claws of anti-democratic forces led by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

"To us in Ekiti, it is not just about conducting an election but a journey to salvage Ekiti from forces of tyranny that the incumbent governor represents"

"If anybody was in doubt as to whether Labour Party is on ground in Ekiti State, the calibre of men in our party now has proved that person wrong"

"Labour Party is the party to beat in Ekiti. We have achieved this despite all manners of tyranny and harassment from Fayemi"

He therefore disclosed that the only way for Ekiti people to effect change and turn around the destiny of the young state was to vote Fayemi and All Progressives Congress, APC out of office.

"I therefore call on all sons and daughters of Ekiti to see this coming election as an opportunity, for us to come together and wrestle against those who are perpetrating a tyranny of their people no matter how powerful they may see themselves"

Also, the National Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu who received Bamidele in company of Ekiti State LP Chairman, Akin Omole, his wife, Oluyemisi and other stalwarts commended the growth of the party in the state.

According to him, "We have been monitoring activities of in Ekiti, with the speed at which you started your task, the road to the government house will be easy"

He went further that "As at today, no other aspirant has come to buy Form of Intent from Ekiti. At the close of work today when we will be reaching this deadline for this, Bamidele would have remained the only one yet we can not declare him automatic candidate, we will let the people decide through the primaries. Against what the people are saying, Bamidele has no godfather, even Governor Mimiko can not dictate to us in LP"

Recall that Bamidele who purchased the Form on the 3rd of March, 2014 for five million naira had met certain requirements, among which is attracting twenty signatories within the party before today's submission.
