Robbers invaded Taraba University, made away with Goods Worth Millions Of Naira
On Thursday, unidentified armed robbers invaded the campus of the Taraba State University and took away cash, other valuables worth millions of naira. The news was confirmed by Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammed Sani and by local police.
Prof. Sani narrated the story, at about 2 a.m., 14 hoodlums over-powered the security guards and robbed 20 offices, including those of the Vice Chancellor, registrar, bursar and cashier.
One of the security men, however, managed to free himself and alerted a number of students who chased the thugs away.
The Vice Chancellor urged the Taraba State Government to fence the university and improve security surveillance around the area. He assured that the incident would not disrupt normal academic activities.
Local police have confirmed the development and said the investigation has been launched, but provided no further information.
