OYO STATE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES WEBSITE,UNVEILS INTERACTIVE PLATFORM

It was another epoch making event on Monday,17th of February when the Honourable Commissioner for Industry, Applied Science and Technology, Mr. Dapo Lam Adesina and other top officials launched the website of the Ministry as well as unveiled the maiden edition of a monthly one-hour social media interactive session tagged ‘PLATFORM MIAST OYO’.

The event held at the Conference room of the Ministry is one of the transformational agenda of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration and was witnessed by officials of the Ministry, selected members of the public and gentlemen of the press.

In his speech, the Honourable Commissioner said “it is by no means a coincidence that his humble self and other officials of the Ministry present at the occasion found themselves in a particular jurisdiction(Science and Technology) where what is expected of them is to set the pace, and make the world a better place for the incoming generation and therefore it is pertinent that everyone should not just think or speak Science and Technology but must eat, drink, sleep, talk and walk technology.”

He however said that the Ministry has deemed it fit to set the pace, blaze the trail as well as lay a vestige which others in our environment could follow in the area of Information Technology since he noticed that Technology grows in a geometrical ratio in other parts of the globe while in this part of the world it grows in an arithmetical ratio.

“We need to bring government closer to the people, we need to interact more with those we govern, there has to be freedom of speech as our people clamour for the information Bill, (FOI) to be passed by our lawmakers as soon as possible.”

“Gone should be the days when you must risk your lives travelling miles across the ocean, over the hills and mountains, through our rugged roads before you get to the Secretariat in order to access a particular information, clarify a misconception or contribute your own quota in the development of the state either as a professional ,businessman or citizen.

He however enjoined the general public to support this unique and distinct innovation which is aimed at bridging the communication gap between the ministry and the public through information technology system and invite everyone to join and register for the one hour monthly interactive session with his humbles self and other top official of the Ministry which starts on the 26th of February,2014 at 8pm on www.oyostate.miast.gov.ng
