2015 Elections: No Position Is Worth Dying For - Gov Uduaghan

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has said that no political office was worth a human life and charged politicians to refrain from bitterness and violence as they jostle for vantage positions ahead of the 2015 general elections

Governor Uduaghan who gave the charge Friday night in Asaba while speaking at a Special Valentine Day event tagged "An Evening with the First Family", informed politicians that power belongs to God, who freely gives it to whom He pleases.
"It is good to have political ambition, but remember that God gives power to whom He pleases. If you contest any political position and it did not work out, accept it as the will of God and God's plan for you. He may have better plans for you in future", he stated.
Continuing he said: "No political position is worth dying for and we should not encourage any person to die for our political aspirations. Remember we will be held accountable for our actions and inactions in this world when we die ".
He urged Nigerians especially the political class in the spirit of the season to show love to one another and refrain from doing harm to others adding that "if we love one another we will not harm each other either with physical arms or with our tongues".
The governor enjoined couples to use the Valentine Day celebration to renew their marriage vows and love for one another as well as share the blessings of love  as this would bring them closer and make their relationship more stable.
Also, the Governor used the occasion to urge Nigerians to be involved in one form of physical exercise or another so as to keep fit and healthy stressing that healthy family units means a healthy society.
Earlier, Deaconess Roli Nere Uduaghan, Delta State First lady and organiser of the programme said that the event was put together for couples to appreciate and share the blessings of love of God on this special day.
She used the occasion to invite the persons present to participate in a Keep Fit exercise tagged "A Walk for Life" .
Highlights of the ceremony were a brief exhortation by Rev. DR. Udi on the topic "Where Will You Spend Eternity", comedy shows, drama piece and dance by the First couple and a plethora of dignitaries present.
