Gov Ahmed Sets Up Committee on Rapid Job Creation, QuickWin


The Kwara State Governor says all necessary machinery has been put in place for rapid job youth job creation in 2014.
This assurance was given by the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed while inaugurating a committee to work out modalities for a job intervention initiative tagged QuickWin at Government House, Ilorin today. The inauguration follows the state government's pledge to prioritise youth jobs in the 2014 budget proposal.

Governor Ahmed stressed that as a  youth-focused administration, government was determined to get more young people into employment while also offering training and credit facilities for those seeking to start or grow their own businesses. He assured that various opportunities will be created for direct bridge employment and entrepreneurship and urged youths in the state to key into the QuickWin Programme. 

Alhaji Ahmed charged the committee to rapidly work out modalities for creating the first set of jobs within the first quarter of year while prioritizing equity and merit in the distribution of the jobs across the state. According to him, The QuickWin Initiative builds up on the 5000 youth jobs so far created under KWABES.

The Committee, which has 7 days to submit its report, is headed by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold. Other members are the Head of Service, Alhaji Dabarako Mohammed, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Toyin Sanusi, Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, Alhaji Ibrahim Adeyemi, SSA Government House, Mr Yomi Ogunsola, SSA Investment, Dr. Muideen Akorede, SSA Media and Alhaji Saka Babatunde, SA Youth Empowerment.
