GOVERNOR UDUAGHAN TASKS WOMEN ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR COMMUNITIES

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has urged women in the state to act as catalyst for the development of their communities.
Governor Uduaghan who gave this advice at the weekend in Mosogar in Ethiope West Local Government Area when he paid a condolence visit to
his Senior Political Adviser, Chief Ighoyota Amori on the demise of his mother, Madam Obireyibo Amori called on women to imbibe the virtues of hard work and discipline and mobilise their fellow women for development of their communities.
The governor explained that women should not deviate from their responsibility of being role model to their children saying “children look up to their mothers in all they do. They should therefore live by example so that their children can emulate their good qualities and become responsible citizens of the state and nation. This will guarantee brighter future for the state and nation.”
He paid tribute to late Madam Obireyibo Amori  describing her as “a great mother and leader of the women folk in her community”.
Recalling his early life in Mosogar, Dr. Uduaghan said the deceased championed the cause of women in the community stating that he imbibed the virtues of hardwork and discipline from her.
Governor Uduaghan was received at the country home of Chief Amori by the State Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama, Legislators, Traditional Rulers and members of the Urhobo Political Forum headed by Chief Amori.
In a brief remark, Chief Igoyota Amori thanked the Governor for the condolence visit explaining that his family was encouraged by the visit.
His words “ I am highly honoured by this visit and the Amori family thank you for identifying with us in our period of grief, we are encouraged by this visit and promise that we will always support you.”
Late Madam Obireyibo Amori was one hundred years old.

Meanwhile the wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan were among dignitaries who at the weekend paid tributes to a popular Evangelist, Elder Irene Uraih-Dieah in Otakeme, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
In a sermon at the Funeral service, Apostle Numbere of the Greater Evangelical World Crusade commended the deceased, Late Elder Uraih- Dieah for her commitment to the development her state, Bayelsa and for building a branch of the church in her community.
He described Late Elder Uraih-Dieah as a committed and dedicated member of his church who worked for the propagation of the gospel in the area despite her age stressing that “she left a legacy for us her church members, children and all that came in contact with her while she was alive, that what matters most in life is salvation.”
Other dignitaries at the service who paid tributes to the deceased including The Supervisory Minister of Education, Mr. Nyiesom Wike, Governors Seriake Dickson, Liyel Imoke and Obong Godswill Akpabio of Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa-lbom states and various clerics led by The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor described the deceased as a great mobiliser of women for development and preaching of the gospel in the community.

Late Elder Uraih-Dieah died at the age of seventy-four and was survived by several children and relatives including President Goodluck Jonathan
