Abandoned Zenith Bank Branch Becomes Armed Robbers Hideout

Zenith Bank M.D, Godwin Emefiele

One of the biggest and most successful banking institutions in Nigeria, Zenith Bank Plc has abandoned one of its branches in Ogun State.
The Zenith Bank branch which is located along Idi-Iroko road, Ota, Ogun State, few meters away from Bishop Oyedepo’s Canaan Land was built about 5 years ago but was never commissioned.
Though, with its signpost and other corporate identities, the management of the foremost bank which is known for its excellent banking service has not been able to put the branch into use.

Meanwhile, because of the abandonment, we learnt that the compound of the branch has been taken over by weeds, which has now turned the whole premises into a breeding ground for snakes and other dangerous animals.

‘Zenith Bank branch has become a real problem in this area. We are attacked on a daily basis by snakes, just because the management refuses to cut down the weeds. They should at least maintain the place if they don’t want to use it’, one of the residents of the area where the bank is located said.
Our source also disclosed that few months ago, policemen arrested some armed robbers around the area and it was discovered that some of their guns and other deadly weapons with which they rob innocent citizens were hidden in the abandoned Zenith bank building.

‘It was the Police at Obasanjo Farm bus stop that arrested the hoodlums. You won’t believe they use the abandoned building as their ‘warehouse’, the source told us.
