LAWMA SWEEPER KILLED BY SPEEDING MILITARY PERSONNEL


A highway sweeper under the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) on Wednesday lost her life when a vehicle knocked her off the Third Mainland Bridge to ground.
A Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who was at the scene of the accident reports that the sweeper was hit when the vehicle had a bust tyre.

TROOPS AND POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS LEADERS



                         
In another unprecedented development on yesterday, troops of 101 Task Force Battalion, 7 Division Garrison, along Lagos Street Maiduguri, Borno State, arrested yet another declared wanted Boko Haram terrorists leader. The suspect who gave his name as Abubakar Sadiq, works as night watchman to one Muhammad Daggash. A closer look at him shows that he was suspect number 28 among the suspected Boko Haram terrorists that were declared by the Nigerian Army last month.

Dr Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu, a former Minister of Education, is dead at 63. Festus Aja-Nwachukwu, the former minister’s younger brother, who confirmed the death in Abuja on Wednesday, said his elder brother died on Tuesday Nov. 17, while receiving treatment at an Israeli hospital.

Ahmed Inaugurates Committee on Workers' Database





The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has inaugurated a committee on Personnel Data Based system development as part plans overhaul its staff and payroll system.



Speaking during the inauguration at Government House, Ilorin, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed stated the committee was necessitated by the need to put in place a modernized database of state and local government civil servants for planning and monitoring purposes.

NIS Denies Malicious Report On Fake Certificates



The attention of the management of the NIS has been drawn to a malicious, mischievous and spurious publication entitled “9,077 NIS OFFICERS IN TROUBLE, FOUND WORKING WITH FAKE CERTIFICATES” in which it was reported that the aforementioned number of Immigration officers had been sacked with immediate effect for certificates forgery.  The author went further to state that 2,430 of such officers are in Enugu Command of NIS, while 3,284 are in Abia. In his or her mischief the author went as far as quoting the Comptroller-General as saying that NIS will commence replacement of persons in vacant positions of the Service as soon as approval is secured from the Federal Government to recruit personnel.
