17 Year Old Wife Poisons Husband Out Of Hatred

Seventeen-year-old Beninoise woman, Abiodun Ojo, who killed her husband, Jimoh, in the Makoko area of Yaba, Lagos State, has said she poisoned her husband because she hated him.

Abiodun, during an interview with Punch Metro, blamed her father for forcing her to marry Jimoh, who she said never took care of her.

She said she had run away from the deceased three times, and was sent back by her father, who she described as the architect of her problem.

Aworis Protest Against Government Marginalization of Indigenes at Tinubu's Residence

Some indigenes of Awori  have stormed the Lagos residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to protest against the marginalisation of their people in the appointment of public officials.

The protesters said none of the Awori indigenes from their communities had been appointed into public office in the last 16 years despite their support for the Lagos State Government and Tinubu.

The group, on Sunday, urged Tinubu and the APC-led government in the state to address their complaint.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Dr. Sade Yemi-Esan, on Tuesday said the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation has succeeded in stopping the signal of Radio Biafra because it was not licensed.

Yemi-Esan disclosed this to State House correspondents shortly after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari of her ministry’s activities inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

She said the commission was currently working with security agencies to apprehend those behind the illegal radio.

Jamal Ottun was a Year 12 pupil at Wallington County Grammar School in Sutton, London. 

The headmaster Jonathan Wilden said in a statement that emergency services were called for Jamal during the planned swimming trip on Sunday.

The Ojodu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State on Monday apprehended a middle-aged man in Ogba area, Innocent Nwevo, with 47 kegs of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as Petrol.

Life Continental Beer, a brand under the stables of Nigeria Breweries, has given additional N3million cash grant to 12 young entrepreneurs within the South-East to boost their business ideas.

It would be recalled that Life Beer had earlier given out N3million to 12 young entrepreneurs in its on-going ``Life Continental Beer Progress Booster Radio Project’’ about a month ago.

The Head of Brewery, Ama, Mr Abiodun Ajayi, told newsmen last week that the brand had earmarked N14.5 million grant to boost 50 young entrepreneurs, who reside and hail from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo.
